Statement by Lisa Levin, CEO of AdvantAge Ontario:
“We’re very pleased that today’s provincial budget contains some positive news for long-term care homes, including measures that will help not-for-profit homes renovate, expand and build. Not-for-profit homes are not developers, nor do they have the same access to capital as for-profit corporations. The capital funding announced in the budget will be a game changer that will allow many new not-for-profit long-term care homes to be built. It will also prevent some older homes from closing that require renovations to meet new design standards. This is great news for Ontarians, who overwhelmingly choose not-for-profit long-term care.”
